Nathaniel Walcott, Mike Mogis - The Stand (Original Series Soundtrack) (2021) [Hi-Res]

Nate Walcott is a composer, arranger, keyboard player, and trumpet player. He is a member of the band Bright Eyes, and has composed the scores for several feature-length films, including the 2014 blockbuster The Fault In Our Stars; Midnight Sun (2018, starring Bella Thorne), Come And Find Me, (2016, starring Aaron Paul and Annabelle Wallis); the Josh Boone written and directed Stuck in Love, (2012, starring Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly); Lovely Still, (2008, starring Ellen Burstyn and Martin Landau), and the short film Wig Shop, (2016, starring Emily Mortimer). He also co-composed (alongside friends Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice) the score for the film Song One (2014), starring Anne Hathaway. Most recently, he has composed the score for the mini-series “The Stand”, an adaptation of the book by Stephen King, which is currently streaming on CBS All Access.

Highlights of his time with Bright Eyes over the years include writing the arrangements and orchestrations for the band’s appearance at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, performances at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, and London’s Royal Albert Hall, and numerous tours of North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. After a nine-year hiatus, the band has released a new album, Down in the Weeds Where the World Once Was.

Since 2016 Walcott has been the live and touring keyboard player, pianist, and trumpeter for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. His time with the band began with The Getaway tour of 2016-17, continued throughout 2018 and ‘19, and has taken him throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East. A recent highlight of his time with the band was a performance in Egypt at the Pyramids of Giza in March of 2019.

In the studio, has written arrangements (orchestral and otherwise) for artists such as Mavis Staples, Angel Olsen, First Aid Kit, Jenny Lewis, Christian Lee Hutson, Pete Yorn, Cursive, The Faint, and Rilo Kiley, among others, and has performed on the albums of such artists as U2, Beck, Jeff Parker, Phoebe Bridgers, Jason Mraz, Maroon 5, She & Him, and The Shins. He has also played in Conor Oberst’s Mystic Valley Band and with singer/songwriter M. Ward, and has also toured with the James Mercer and Danger Mouse-led group Broken Bells, Rilo Kiley, Iron & Wine, and the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
