His is 22 years old, a native of Lyon (France), the brilliant student of Isabelle Moretti at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris, the prizewinner at a number of international competitions, and a representative of the new generation of musicians for whom being a man and a harpist is not incompatible. This is his first recording, made under the patronage of his countryman Xavier de Maistre, for whom in turn this is his fourth recording for Claves!
Emmanuel Ceysson, the laureate of the “Harp at Four” concerts that were held within the framework of the Sommets Musicaux 2005 festival in Gstaad, was offered the opportunity by the festival organization and the principal sponsor, the Edmond de Rothschild Private Bank, to record two romantic harp concertos with the Rheinland-Pfalz State Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Finnish conductor Hannu Lintu in Ludwigshafen in September 2005. The program features a rare work for two harps by Albert Zabel and Elias Parish Alvars' Concerto for Two Harps in D Minor; also on the recording is Carl Reinecke's Concerto for Harp in E Minor performed by Xavier de Maistre.
