Fans of General Crook will remember his breakout hits Gimme Some and What Time It Is which peaked at numbers 22 and 31 respectively on the 1970 US Billboard R&B chart. His 1974 self-titled album would eventually lead him to a successful songwriting and record producing career for the likes of Syl Johnson and Willie Clayton, and is available here in a stunning digital reissue.
