Debi Smith is truly gifted. A multi-instrumentalist with a three-octave vocal range, Smith writes songs with the craftsmanship of an artisan and the insight of a poet. The winner of the Mid-Atlantic, Billboard and ASCAP songwriter competitions, Smith has received Wammie (Washington Area Music Association) awards as "best new folk" and "best female vocalist".
Born in Philadelphia, raised in Falls Church, Virginia and currently residing in Washington, D.C., Smith recorded four albums with her younger sister, Megan, as The Smith Sisters. A member of The Four Bitchin' Babes since 1994, she's been featured on two of the all-female singer-songwriter supergroup's albums. Smith has also recorded two solo albums. Her debut solo recording, In My Dreams, released in 1995, was produced by Mary Chapin Carpenter's guitar player, John Jennings. Smith's second solo effort, More Than Once was released in 1998. ~ Craig Harris
