A talented session singer who started her career working for Barry White, Smokey Robinson, Joe Cocker and other well known recording artists, Viola Wills’ first major break as a solo artist came in 1979 with her cover version of "Gonna Get Along Without You Now" which began a string of hits including “A House Is Not A Home,” and “If You Could Read My Mind” - songs that would establish her as one of the leading stars of the disco world. Wills’ popularity continued to grow and in 1982, her updated rendition of the chestnut “Stormy Weather” rose to the # 4 spot on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart.
