American Thread is a rock and roll band founded by Guitarist/Singer Brendan Ahern and Drummer Geoff Downing in 2012. Based out of Boston, American Thread just finished recording their first Album, Killing Days at Proofbox Studios in Somerville with Producer/multi instrumentalist Steve Mayone.
Killing Days blends influences from Bruce Springsteen to The Pogues and focuses on themes seen often in the Northeast from the plight of commercial fishermen to observations one can make in any bar around Boston. The band is proud of where they are from and the people who make this area great.
After recording the album Brendan filled out the lineup by recruiting Michael Taggart(Formerly of The Good North) to hold down Bass.
The band is already establishing a loyal following throughout the Boston area and is looking forward to playing this great music out.
"The boys take the mainland Americana sound and give it their own east coast bend. Whether that’s singing about the fisherman of the Atlantic or the events of the local bars – the spin is certainly their own. They’ve got a sound in the same neighborhood with American Aquarium, one that is sorely under served, so I am glad they are taking up that mantle." - Yankee Calling, www.yankeecalling.com
