A native of Paris, Adrien Chicot learns as a self-taught piano from childhood. His constancy and his curiosity towards the instrument lead him very early to the discovery of jazz, for which he discovers a passion. He joined the IACP, a school run by the Belmondo brothers, which will soon see the birth of a new generation of great musicians committed to jazz up the dregs (Julien Alour, Samy Thiebault, Alexandre Freiman, Géraldine Laurent, Jean-Philippe Scali, Maxime Fougères, to name a few …) Adrien Chicot has since established himself on the young French jazz scene, becoming the sure reflection of a music borrowed from the most classic influences (Mc Coy Tyner, Herbie Hancock, Ahmad Jamal, Red Garland etc.) but always attentive and concerned. by the sharp mastery of current jazz. His music, very instinctive, marked by a sensitive architecture, hitherto engages his role in the rhythm of several formations, in which his harmonic poems participate (Samy Thiebault quartet, Julien Alour quintet) He performs in the prestigious festivals of Marciac, Vienna, Ramatuelle, Sète etc. but also in the most famous clubs of France, Europe and New York, without neglecting several tours in Latin America, Africa and Asia … On these occasions he shared the stage, sometimes even the studio recording, with Lionel and Stéphane Belmondo, Avishai Cohen, Rick Margitza, Olivier Temime, Simon Goubert, Seamus Blake, Sophie Alour and many other pioneers of jazz. With his years of playful practice, he composed in 2014 his first album, All in, which he recorded in trio with Sylvain Romano and Jean-Pierre Arnaud. His second album, Playing in the dark, released in 2017. His unique interpretation of a tireless legacy is, each time, commented by an enchanted and unanimous press. He takes up the writing for City Walk, the pianist’s new urban album, which is scheduled for release on November 16, 2018, on the Gaya Music Production label.
