The Violin concerto is a real gem, it shines and brittles with eagerness, and impressive melodic moments. It has a coherence which makes this concerto every bit as interesting as say Sibelius or Svendsen to name a few. The Cello is no less a stunner of the first order. The same melodic creativity, this overflowing well of passion and romance, brilliantly put together in three movements, and played with panache and unbridled enthusiasm. The Piano concerto is also an impressive work. Not at all like the concertos I know, like the one from Grieg for instance. It has it’s own originality and a stamp of authenticity which is also traceable in the previous concertos.
