Modernique - Modernique [Japanese Limited Edition] (1987/2015)

A group with a sound that's as modern as their name – a short-lived 80s soul combo with lots of electro funky touches! There's a snapping style to Modernique that makes them feel a bit like The Family, Madhouse, or other members of the Paisley Park universe – but their overall sound is often a bit warmer, and hearkens a bit more back towards earlier 80s soul in the construction of the tunes, if not in the rhythms.
