LITTLE FEAT is one of the great live bands of the rock & roll era. A year and a half before recording their classic live double album, which was dressed up with the addition of the Tower of Power horns, Waiting For Columbus, they played a Valentine's Day 1976 show at Winterland in San Francisco, broadcast live on KSAN-FM. This is what the band really sounded like in the era of Lowell George, their founder and initial songwriter.
Opening with Apolitical Blues with a dead vocal mic, the sound guys get it together and, in order of performance, they are: Skin It Back, Fat Man in the Bathtub, One Love Stand, Rock & Roll Doctor, On Your Way Down, All That You Dream, a spectacular medley of Cold Cold Cold, Dixie Chicken and Tripe Face Boogie, then the quiet trucking song, Willin' ("weed, whites and wine", which Lowell explains from the stage got him kicked out of Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention for supposedly writing a drug song), then finally, the goodtime rocker, Teenage Nervous Breakdown.
Lowell George - guitar, vocals
Kenny Gradney - bass
Paul Barrere - guitar, vocals
Sam Clayton - percussion, vocals
Ritchie Hayward - drums, vocals
