Staggers & Jags - Pour It Out (2022)

In February of 2020, Staggers and Jags went into the studio to lay down the foundational tracks of what would become Pour It Out. Two years later, the record is finally here. Featuring ten original songs, the album is a parade through an American folk music hall of mirrors. Across the landscape of the album, you’ll find elements of bluegrass, folk, classic country, gypsy jazz, and more.

Anchored by James Anderson’s fiddle and G. Stevens’ songwriting, the record pulls in a cavalcade of talented players to support the two primary members. Featured are upright bassist Fuller Condon (Two Man Gentlemen Band), vocalist Becca Bessinger (The Letter Show), banjoist Justin Parrish (Jam Grass All Stars), and Nashville-based pedal steel player Kyle Everson.

The album’s sound and lyrics conjure a wild world of barrooms, trains, thunderstorms, and bad actors. It’s a rich listen that will resonate with any lover of Americana music.
