Frut - Keep on Truckin (Reissue) (1971)

Their material is primarily R&B driven, and they have a clear fondness for the 50's as heard in a number of their selections, especially the ballads. When they do rock, even these cuts are mostly blues/rock. Unfortunately, they don't pull it off well enough to make the campiness seem compelling - there just isn't enough of an underground vibe going on. And as lightweight fare, it doesn't capture the imagination well. But, like many other albums, there are a couple of bright spots worthy of note, so this shouldn't completely disappoint.
