Drawing on her experiences of motherhood and of raising her newborn son Max during the Covid lockdowns, Davis has created an extended work in five movements, full of beautiful harmonies and melodies.

Davis describes her musical language here as ‘minimalist in nature’, inspired also by the music of Bill Frisell and Jakob Bro.

Suite for Max features Davis’ elegant, honeyed tone on alto sax, with an ensemble of Australian jazz luminaries: Stephen Magnusson on guitar, Frank Di Sario on bass and Patrick Danao on drums, with special guest Mat Jodrell on trumpet on track two.
