Willie Harper - The Sansu Recordings (2022)

One of an entire generation of talented New Orleans vocalists who recorded sides with the legendary producer, arranger and songwriter Allen Toussaint, Willie Harper lent his powerful voice to countless Toussaint helmed sessions throughout the ‘60s, but the handful of sides that featured Harper as lead vocalist never received more than local attention despite their considerable quality. Between 1960 and 1968 Harper was featured on a dozen sides released on Toussaint’s Sansu and Alon labels.
