The live album for the 40th stage anniversary of Richard Bargel! "One wonders how this is supposed to go together:
Here a dobro played in Richard Bargel's very own archaic blues style and there an electric guitar played in Klaus 'Major' Heuser's typical modern rock style. While Bargel evokes the atmosphere of a run-down juke joint in the rural Mississippi Delta, the sound of 'Major' Heuser's guitars transforms the juke joint into one of the nation's great rock halls within seconds. It all happens within just one song - and it works!
That it works is due to the congenial interplay of two fundamentally different guitarists, to their ability not to put their own personality and virtuosity in the foreground, but the joy of playing together, of making music itself. Both musicians can look back on a long career and have each achieved legendary status in their own field. They no longer have anything to prove to themselves or to anyone else. This gives them the necessary serenity and gives their concerts that aura that is comparable to the joint performances of Eric Clapton and J.J. Cale. They play what they like, what they enjoy, without taking trends or audience tastes into consideration. They play the music they grew up with. And since neither of them ever walked around with musical blinders on, their repertoire is also so diverse."
