Trio Slavík–Noble–Clarvis plays purely acoustic music, which is deeply rooted in the jazz tradition and ways of playing from the past. However, he creatively transforms them into their current form, and at the same time points to the possible future development of this genre.

The trio brings together the Czech double bassist Jiří Slavík and two musicians a generation older from Great Britain, namely the leading English jazz pianist Liam Noble and the court percussionist of the Abbey Road studio Paul Clarvis. The title of the record Nostalgia suggests that it is a return to the past, and a cursory glance at the track list can further confirm this. In addition to original music, it includes, for example, arrangements of compositions by George Gershwin and Charles Mingus or unexpected cover versions of the world-famous songs It's a Long Way To Tipperary or Škoda lásky. But first impressions are sometimes deceiving. And that is also the case with this album. The trio moves jazz standards and timeless hits into today's context.
