Vincenzo Ricca's The Rome Pro(g)ject - V: Compendium of a Lifetime (2022)

The fifth chapter of Vincenzo Ricca’s The Rome Pro(G)ject saga draws inspiration from the military discipline of ancient Rome on one hand, and the dramatic events of the eruption of Vesuvius on the other.
It develops in eight brand new compositions – whose elements have a life of their own – in which reminiscences and quotes of Prog Rock genre emerge here and there, with no lack of suggestive novelties in terms of sound scapes.
Alongside Vincenzo Ricca, once again Steve Hackett and David Jackson – the only collaborators featured on all previous works – with other magnificent usual contributors as John Hackett, Bernardo Lanzetti and Nick Magnus. The big surprise is the participation of Tony Levin who characterizes four out of the eight tracks on the album. And then some “delicious talents”: the new entry, vocalist Tony Patterson, who flank long-time collaborators such as Franck Carducci (bass and guitar 12), Paolo Ricca (electric guitar), Daniele Pomo (Drums) and Roberto Vitelli (bass ).
The lenght of the album is around 43 minutes (which suggests a quality vinyl version…maybe someday) plus, a revised version of “Exegi Monvmentvm”, from the third album, as a bonus track.
