Kent DuChaine is a superb musician, raconteur & entertainer, who in his long career of almost 50 years, has shared the stage with many of the greatest exponents of the Blues including, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Bukka White & Big Mama Thornton, to name just a few.
Kent was a W.C.Handy Award winner for an album made in collaboration with Bluesmen Johnny Shines & Snooky Pryor. He also featured on a Grammy nominated album in 1991. Kent has a unique connection to Robert Johnson (King of the Delta Blues) through Kent’s years of travelling with Robert’s own travelling companion in the 1930’s, Johnny Shines. In the early 1990’s Kent started doing overseas tours appearing at most of the major Blues festivals in Europe & the UK as well as at home in the USA.
Kent plays an 86 year old National steel guitar named Leadbessie strung with heavy gauge strings to cope with his powerful playing style.
He was honoured to be asked by Ben “Boogie” Waters to play at a BB King tribute concert in central London with music Legends Bill Wyman, Elliott Randall & many other luminaries. In 2020 Kent was asked to open 2 shows in London for the Ben Waters Band featuring the Legendary Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood.
