Craig Beaton, or simply Craig B as his fans and friends call him, is an indispensable part of the independent music scene. With GANGER he released three albums (Domino Records) from 1995 to 1999, the successor band AEREOGRAMME also produced three albums (Chemical Underground Records), several EPs and a split with the US formation ISIS during their 10 years of existence. There was a big hole, after AEREOGRAMME called it quits in 2007, but two years later Craig B and AEREOGRAMME guitarist Iain Cook unveiled their project THE UNWINDING HOURS releasing two albums together. After that Craig, a great admirer of songwriters Mark Kozelek and Mark Eitzel, took this opportunity to live out his "quiet" side. Accompanied by his longtime friend Graeme Smillie on the piano, "A Mote Of Dust", the first album of the eponymous new project, was released in 2015, named after a quote by cosmologist Carl Sagan. Musically the project moves between Ambient, Minimal, Neo-Classical and Indie.
