Jazz Dock Orchestra - Tonight (2023) [Hi-Res]

The album Tonight is the first album by the popular Prague jazz club Jazz Dock. It features a live recording of two concerts that took place on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the 17th and 18th January 2023 bigband. Jazz Dock is a popular club with a magical atmosphere on the Vltava River, where the best players of the Czech jazz scene meet their colleagues from abroad. The orchestra consists of the best Czech and Slovak musicians, its main leader is English saxophonist and composer Andy Schofield. Jazz Dock Orchestra regularly invites colleagues from abroad, has performed with him including Kurt Elling, Richard Bona, Ben Wendel and Niels Klein, and presented to the audience the compositions and arrangements of classical works by Duk Elligton, Bob Brookmeyer, Charles Mingus or Gil Evans. On this album, however, the orchestra presents its own compositions. The authors are Andy Schofield and Jan Jirucha. It was recorded live and the recording was thus imimimitable atmosphere of the moment and a piece of energy that the audience would pass back to the musicians. Just like it happens at each of the regular concerts of the bigband every third Monday of the month.
