Ensemble Diderot, Johannes Pramsohler - J.G. Goldberg & W.F. Bach: Trio Sonatas (2023) [Hi-Res]

For the 15th anniversary of Ensemble Diderot, and after forays into concertos and chamber music using larger forces, Johannes Pramsohler and his colleagues go back to the roots with a recording of their core repertoire: Trio Sonatas. Highly inventive works by Bach pupils Johann Gottlieb Goldberg and Wilhelm Friedemann Bach make for a programme in which the Diderots show their art with their trademark stylish and agile playing.

"A trio sonata ensemble in standard instrumentation does not come closer to W.F. Bach than with J.G. Goldberg's four sonatas for two violins and basso continuo. They deserve to take a place at the centre of the repertoire, in as much as they rank among the greatest in terms of their musical content, creative ideas, and compositional refinement."

Johannes Pramsohler, violin
Roldán Bernabé, violin
Gulrim Choï, cello
Philippe Grisvard, harpsichord

Thanks fantastik.
Remarkable !

Most famous in C Major (ex BWV 1037) is an hommage to Bach :)
(1st movement: Goldberg Variations seems like Harpsichordist's idea ??)
2nd movement: after BWV 54 Aria
3rd movement: after BWV 1015 3rd movement
4th movement: after BWV 180 1st piece

Other players also excellent !
Who said others not so :p
Many thanks
