A country singer with a strong and soulful streak, Jeffrey East first gained traction in Nashville as a songwriter, but he launched his recording career in 2015. A native of Dale, Texas, East first played music as part of his family's band. After performing throughout Texas, the East family relocated to Nashville in 1993, and over the next decade he continued to play music, but his career started to take off in 2006 when he focused on songwriting. Harley Allen signed East to a publishing deal and he stayed with the company for two years before moving to Zavitson Music Group in 2010. East began collaborating with other writers at ZMG, and his songs were soon placed with Dierks Bentley, Rascal Flatts, Joe Diffie, the Grascals, and Sister Hazel, among other acts. In 2015, he signed with Peer Music and began working on a performing career. He began to perform regularly and putting songs online, eventually working his way into television, appearing on CMT's Redneck Island and writing the theme song for American Pickers. He released his first single, "Party at the End of the Road," in 2015. Two years later he released two singles, "Roller Rink" and "Still Crazy." ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
