"Basic Ingredients" is Blues Plate Special's third offering of original blues and, as the title suggests, contains a number of styles from the jump-blues of "Fist Full Of Glasses" to the National Resonator led "Heed the Call". Two covers were carefully chosen to reflect the band's respectful and tasty treatment of a couple of "standards". Together since 1996 (with the same original players) BPS serves up house-rockin' blues that make ya wanna move! Lyrics are often true stories of band members experiences and reflect the mission of BPS.... to "Spread the Good News of the BLUES!"
