Szalay Fatima - amor fati (2023)

The title of the album, amor fati, is a pun on the singer's name, but at the same time it reflects the awareness that characterizes the entire album. It’s a statement of the album, daring to tread a new path while professing an intimate proximity to its forerunners. “I sing in four languages apart from Hungarian on this album; Turkish, Romanian, Roma, and Croatian. Peoples who have lived with us for hundreds of years, who have shaped Hungarian culture and music, and whose culture I feel attracted to.”

Heritage feels alive, layered and diverse, with enough room for anyone to enter.

Pál Danhauser (violin), Bálint Dombi (viola), Máté Tóth (double bass), László Szlama (cobza) and Bendegúz Avas (clarinet) add their skill and personalities to a mature sound.
