Of all the recordings in the Conversation series I took the biggest risks with this one... Firstly by trying to bring together my fondness for massive percussion sounds with inspirations like Charles Ives and Afro-Cuban rhythms, and the creativity of the ArtEnsemble of Chicago... My own personal Florian Arbenz brew if you will... But also because Jim Hart was the only musician present that I'd worked with before! I just had a feeling that we could have a lot of fun in this constellation.... Thanks to the positive vibes, the joyful interplay and the incredible ability of Ivo, Jim, Percy, Yumi and Szymon this recording became such a deep and exciting experience! I'm overwhelmed and deeply grateful to this gang of extraordinary musicians and personalities! Hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed making this one! Florian
