VA - Alone at Taro's Atelier (2023) Hi-Res

This compilation album brings together a selection of solo performances from the "Days of Delight Atelier Concert," a YouTube event showcasing the creative playing of Japan's finest jazz musicians. It was recorded at the Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. Nine top players active in the Japanese jazz scene, from a maestro in his 70s to a young musician in his 20s, perform a once-in-a-lifetime concert in the atelier, which has been preserved exactly as it was in the old days and still conveys the spirit of Taro Okamoto. The nine musicians featured are: Yusuke Sase (tp), Hatsune Hirakura (p), Keisuke Furuki (b), Masafumi Yamaguchi (ss), David Bryant (p), Norihiro Doi (b-cl), Riku Takahashi (b), Mamoru Ishida (p), Atsushi Ikeda (as).
