The Solid Gold Soul releases included updated artwork and packaging, but the used same track listings, masterings, and (usually) the same matrix number on the disc.

Time-Life released this disc as Various - Rhythm & Blues 1956 (RHD-05) in the Rhythm & Blues (Time Life Music) series and Various - Solid Gold Soul 1956 (R838-24) in the Solid Gold Soul series. The two discs are digitally identical.
