After 20 years of absence from the scene because of health problems, Johnny O'Neal is back, performing with ever more convincing communication skills. He was known in the Eighties as Art Blakey's pianist, and as a sideman for many other great artists. Today he has become a complete, all around entertainer, singing, playing, and telling stories to young and mature audiences alike, and performing almost nightly in several New York's jazz clubs. O'Neal Is Back features an excellent pianist with an amazing voice and an encyclopedic knowledge of jazz, blues, swing, and the American songbook in general. And, of course, an incredible personal history.
