Stuart Bogie, Sam Cohen, Josh Kaufman - Patient Music (2024) [Hi-Res]

"Patient Music" consists of two new works by composer and clarinetist Stuart Bogie. They were created with longtime friends Josh Kaufman and Sam Cohen. The music was recorded in one night during two sessions in front of a small group of friends. The trio demonstrates years of playing together through fully improvised pieces.

Bogie, a renowned instrumentalist, creates melodies from simple phrases. Kaufman and Cohen play guitars, keyboards, and percussion, forming a dynamic musical foundation. The pieces are presented as a whole, without being divided into tracks, to allow listeners to fully immerse themselves in the music.

The recording was made at the famous Studio A at Reservoir Studios in Manhattan. The sound engineer was four-time Grammy winner Patrick Dillett. The album places the listener at the moment of the music's creation.

"Patient Music" is the first release in the new Sounds from the Reservoir series by Historical Fiction Records.
