Ai Kakihira - MAKUNOUCHI (2024) [Hi-Res]

The second EP of the Tokyo-based multi-instrumentalist Ai Kakihira will be out on November 15th. Earlier in May 2024, she released her first EP "IN", a lo-fi bedroom pop / jazz-inflected instrumentation with glitchy electronics, dream-pop , and somewhat cinematic orchestration.

Originally from Nagasaki Prefecture and now currently living in Tokyo, Ai Kakihira’s sound is a unique psychedelic blend, skillfuly incorporating elements of chillwave, disco, soul, techno, global music, and dream pop. With delicate vocals and melodies sung in her native Japanese language, Kakihira’s music is full of dense yet intricate dynamic arrangements.
