NYC-based Power Pop band Joy Buzzer have just released Pleased To Meet You, their first LP for Wicked Cool Records.

Pleased to Meet You, has 10 great, five mixed by two-time Grammy winner Carl Glanville. Recorded at Little Steven’s Renegade Studio and other studios around New York City, this album is a “statement of the band’s intention to deliver super high-energy songs, with witty lyrics and huge hooks.”

It also marks the return of Jed Becker with Kevin Lydon, the singer from their previous Garage Rock project, The Lord Calverts. Additionally, the album features Askold Buk, guitarist for The Lord Calverts and longtime production partner.

Joy Buzzer are inspired by bands such as Fountains of Wayne, XTC, Squeeze, Todd Rundgren and Badfinger.

Formed in 2021 by members of The Lord Calverts and The Doppel Gang, the band is led by songwriter/guitarist Jed Becker (also known for his work as composer and music director for the Nick Jr. series’ “Dora the Explorer” and “Go, Diego, Go!” among many others) with Kevin Lydon on lead vocals, KG Noble on guitar, Nick DeMatteo on bass and Mark Brotter on drums.

Joy Buzzer recently performed with labelmates The Chesterfield Kings, Bobby Mahoney and others at the Sea.Hear.Now Festival after-party ‘Asbury A Go-Go’ in Asbury Park, NJ.

In early September, the band’s previous single “You Don’t Even Know My Name” was selected as the “Coolest Song In The World” by Little Steven’s Underground Garage.
