La Chanson Veveysanne and André Krauer present a wonderful programme of works by Joseph Bovet. The Swiss composer and choir-master worked tirelessly in the development of choral singing in the canton of Friborg. If his function as chapel master, for which he was appointed in 1923, led him to write a large number of religious works, in French as well as in Latin and in patois , it is mainly his profane works that Father Bovet owes his fame. Indeed, he wrote many songs with simple texts, talking about nature, life in the countryside or even the family.
