After the success of her first album “Chansons de Cologne”, bandleader Christine Corvisier could not let go of the formative melodies of her childhood. She has enriched these familiar sounds with the influences of her musical career in France, Germany and America. For her new album, she was able to bring in the famous trombonist Marshall Gilkes as a guest, who adds an extra dimension to the band's sound on several tracks.

Corvisier did not stop at reinterpretation: For some tracks, she arranged additional orchestral parts to fully incorporate her versatile musical skills - from clarinet, flute and bass clarinet to baritone, alto and soprano saxophone as well as vocals.

This second album goes beyond the interpretations of Charles Aznavour and Édith Piaf, which have long since become Corvisier's specialty. The repertoire also includes works by Gilbert Bécaud and Charles Trenet, which are taken in surprising, fresh musical directions. Rounded off with impressive original compositions, the result is a coherent overall work with an unmistakably personal touch.
