Javentu - Caligo (2025) [Hi-Res]

JAVENTU- this is Jacob Gregersen and Vitus Denifl on sax, bass and percussion. They move within a hybrid landscape of genre mashing groove oriented treasures of sound. Compositions ranging from Nordic Jazz, chamber-like poetry to wild and juicy songs with heavy grooves inspired from Westafrican music styles, Hip Hop and Jungle. Javentu is creating their own sound, taking inspiration from their extensive travels to Senegal, Brazil and Mali. They are being influenced by their fertile collaborations with musicians, dancers and artists from different fields.

Their new album "Caligo" is an innovative expansion of the duo into intriguingly flavorful collaborations. With drummer Thomas Mantl and multiinstrumentalist and composer Marcelo Politano. Incorporating drums for their live shows and shifting between trio and duo gives them a dynamic range, where they can be intimate story tellers or driving, percussive and energetic like a pulsing train.
