Songs for the Mist Forest is the sophomore album by classical guitarist Morgan Szymanski and artist Tommy Perman. Drawing on the misty woodlands of Morgan’s ranch in Valle de Bravo, Mexico, the 11-track suite expands on their soundtrack for the documentary El Dragón de los Bosques de Niebla, highlighting ecocide in the region. The duo fuses Szymanski’s nuanced guitar work with field recordings of fireflies, birds, crickets, and endangered Abronias, crafting lush, ambient soundscapes that celebrate—and plead for the preservation of—the natural world.
