Antonina Nowacka - Lamunan (2020)

Lamunan is Antonina Nowacka’s solo album, inspired by her six-month stay in Indonesia studying traditional music. Conceived in a Javanese cave where her singing interacted with natural acoustics, the album was recorded in Poland’s Modlin Fortress. It explores the voice as an instrument capable of conveying emotions and states without words. Overlapping vocal lines create minimalist yet emotionally rich choral compositions. The title “Lamunan,” meaning “dreaming” or “fantasy” in Indonesian, reflects the album’s surreal and dreamlike atmosphere, transporting listeners to a world of mysticism and stillness.
