Little Charles & The Sidewinders - Twice as Much for My Baby (2000)

Great lost soul! Little Charles and his firey Sidewinders group never made it to the top of the charts, but during the late 60s, they cut some great little singles with a very hard sound. Some of that material got issued on rare 45s – now worth a pretty penny – but there's also a lot of other great gems that never saw the light of day. This first-ever look at Charles' work, issued as part of Tuff City's great Soul-tay-shus series, finally collects his excellent recordings, including many unreleased tracks. There's a total of 12 songs on the LP – with no "alternate takes", "rhythm tracks", or any of that other tomfoolery you might see on a comp like this. Every track is different, and titles include "Nobody Knows", "Little Ol Fool", "Treat You Right", "Twice As Much For My Baby", "Bad Situation", "Get Her Out Of My Heart", "Too Much Pride", and "Please Open Up The Door".
