Imrama - Imrama (2025) [Hi-Res]

Imrama is an acoustic folk project by three Breton musicians: Pierre-Josquin Goisbault (vocals, guitar, bodhrán, mandola, harmonica), François Boudet (flutes, uilleann pipes, shruti, vocals), and Solveig Pickersgill (violin, vocals). Their music blends personal impressions from travels in Ireland with a deep respect for its musical heritage.

The album features: gentle folk songs, lively traditional tunes (jigs, waltzes, reels, polkas), pieces with baroque influences.

Arrangements highlight drones, voices, strings, winds, and percussion. The trio favors acoustic performance in resonant spaces such as chapels and churches, enhancing the intimacy of their sound. The concept is inspired by the Irish term Imrama, referring to legendary sea voyages of saints and Celtic heroes, symbolizing spiritual quests.
