The group The Weavers released a delightful Christmas album, spanning genres from folk, pop, to gospel, amid growing political controversy surrounding its members. The quartet's performance was characterized by exuberance and mostly elegance, especially Ronnie Gilbert's vocals, with the accompaniment remaining restrained, creating a relaxed atmosphere. However, the record label, fearing to offend some listeners in that less-ecumenical age, prohibited the group from including songs in Hebrew on the album.
