Gilipojazz is a young instrumental trio from Madrid. Despite their relatively short career, they have already established their niche on stage and have sold out most of their concerts. Mad Cool, Sonorama, and Festival de la Luz are just some of the 2024 summer festivals that give an idea of how famous they've already become.
The virtuosity of the highest level is put at the service of the music they create and the positive energy with a healthy dose of humor that they convey. There's a real chemistry here, and it's noticeable from the first note. Their music is completely unclassifiable, and this makes the band special: they mix elements of every conceivable style in a seemingly anarchic way, and achieve the result. Yes, of all styles: punk, progressive, rock, classical, ska... don't forget about jazz. Jazz, first of all, because the feeling they create is improvisation, although nothing could be further from the truth. There is not a single flaw here.
They may resemble The Aristocrats in format and concept, but Gilipojazz will have a higher level of originality and boldness. Perhaps it is their youth that gives them extra energy for such a carefree and bold approach to music, but few can match their authenticity.
Progresa Adecuadamente was mixed by Roy Hendrickson (Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, Diana Krall, Paul McCartney), and mastered by Gonzalo Lascheras (Luis Eduardo Auteu, Jorge Drexler, Miguel Rios, Luz Casal), famous personalities with a brilliant career behind them, whom Gilipojazz counted on this time to complete their work..
Three tracks were released before the album was released, and they appear at the beginning of the album one after the other.
These three musicians poured out a stream of creativity in each track of the album *Progresa adecuada*. Considering that this is only their second studio album, the question arises: how far will they be able to go in the future? From what we've seen, I don't think anything they've got in mind will be beyond their reach. How much Gilipojazz can express instrumentally is truly admirable and rare in the modern music scene. Are they progressing sufficiently? Absolutely! I would even say more than that.
