With his new CD recording, Munich cathedral organist Ruben Sturm presents organ improvisations on Christmas carols from all over the world in a varied mix of different styles and forms: Simple arrangements of simple carols are represented as well as multi-part performances, more complex compositional techniques and symphonic forms. The focus is on diversity - both in the selected song themes and in the improvisation techniques used. The pieces improvised by Ruben Sturm from the monophonic melodies freely and without major preparation also aim to document the immense colorfulness of the Munich cathedral organ in all its facets.

In addition to the 24 tracks - corresponding to the little doors of an Advent calendar - three bonus tracks have been included on the CD as Encore, which are intended to complement and carry on the Christmas joy of the recorded music.
