The Norwegian band KAL-EL, prominent in the heavy underground scene, is releasing the first part of their ambitious double album, "Astral Voyager Vol. 1," in 2025. The group continues to evolve its unique sound, fusing Scandinavian desert rock, doom, and psychedelia with sci-fi aesthetics. The narrative of this concept record centers on the adventures of Mica, an intergalactic mercenary fighting against a totalitarian consortium. Saturated with downtuned grooves and elements of "fuzz-blues," the release is positioned as the crowning achievement of the band, which has been active since 2012.
