Founded in 1969 by David Wright, the Chicago-based band McLuhan was an avant-garde mixed-media project inspired by the theories of Marshall McLuhan. Their sole album, Anomaly, features a highly innovative blend of jazz, psychedelic rock, and progressive influences, drawing comparisons to a fusion of Frank Zappa and the band Chicago. The group's live performances were characterized by experimental soundscapes and film screenings, emphasizing the concept that "the medium is the message." Although the band was active for only eighteen months, Anomaly achieved cult status over time, leading to its eventual rescue and reissue by the Think Like a Key label. As of 2024, original members have reformed the group to perform their legacy material at regular venues in Chicago.Title: Anomaly
