Kaada - Misinterpretations (2021) [Hi-Res]

In his album "Misinterpretations," Norwegian composer Kaada presents a unique reimagining of classical masterpieces by Satie, Schubert, Debussy, Chopin, and others. The recording's hallmark is the use of his signature "PuttyKit" technique—muting piano strings with an adhesive substance to achieve a specific, muted, and sometimes otherworldly sound. The artist transforms familiar piano timbres, making the instrument resemble a zither or a baritone guitar. Despite the minimalist and occasionally monochromatic nature of the sound, the work is characterized by profound respect for the original compositions. It creates a distinct "fireside chat" atmosphere, offering listeners a new experience of the classical canon through the lens of electro-acoustic experimentation.
