The album "Three Suites" by Colin Hinton is the culmination of a six-year creative odyssey that began on the eve of the 2020 pandemic. The project integrates three thematic cycles: "In Absentia," derived from pre-pandemic sketches; "Skumringstid," reflecting the nocturnal solitude and urban void of the lockdown era; and "Elegy for Ralph," a tribute to his mentor Ralph Peterson. Developed alongside collaborators Santiago, Eivind, and Tyshawn Sorey, the work evolved from a personal psychological anchor into a professional threshold. The music documents the artist's internal transformation—from an emerging composer to a mature creator of chamber works—marking a definitive transition between significant life chapters.
