Experimental composer Jeremy Gustin initiated the Blurry The Explorer project in Lisbon, commencing the creative process without predetermined material or a formal concept. The international ensemble included Ricardo Dias Gomes, Ryan Dugre, and Leo Abrahams. The production was characterized by minimalist improvisations and remote collaboration, which reached fruition in New York City during the global pandemic. The group's name, derived from the diaries of Anne Frank, serves as a metaphor for the project’s inherent uncertainty and exploratory nature.

The self-titled debut features diverse contributions from artists such as Brian Eno and the Japanese duo Tenniscoats. The album’s development was marked by a series of profound coincidences connecting collaborators across various continents. Stylistically, the record oscillates between chaotic instrumentals and ethereal vocal arrangements, juxtaposing beauty with intentional dissonance. The result is a unique and fearless sonic exploration, which saw its official release on June 18.
