Honey, I'm Using Again is Sassparilla's eighth album, recorded in a home studio in Golden, Colorado. Fifteen songs explore addiction, loss, aging, and the suicide of close friends. The sound is built around banjo with sparse percussion, creating a Southern Gothic atmosphere. The recording brought together longtime collaborators Doug Ebert and Dan Power, as well as Blackwell's thirteen-year-old son Emmett on drums. The album marked a cathartic return to creativity for the songwriter after a prolonged hiatus.
