Caroline Davis’s debut solo album, Fallows, explores the boundaries between acoustic sound and electronics. Created during an artist residency in Wyoming, the work draws inspiration from Mary Oliver’s poetry, prairie landscapes, and birdsong. Across 12 tracks, Davis combines textural alto saxophone improvisations with field recordings and digital processing via the Organelle device. Dedicated to mentors like Geri Allen and Steve Lacy, the album serves as an intimate reflection on time, land history, and the sonic possibilities of the instrument.
