Does noise—that is, crackling static, arrhythmic metallic clattering, or the occasional sound of a distorted melody, as it arises from modified field recordings—imprint itself on our memory as a memorable auditory experience, even though the original sounds form the acoustic symphony of ordinary daily life and are therefore normally filtered out by our consciousness?
Five chords, produced by a lovely piano performance. They return again and again, yet always in a slightly altered form. Occasionally interpreted as an intro, they sound calm, hopeful, and then melancholic once more, but always harmonious. Minimalist, entertaining, and surprisingly unfinished.
