Keitaro Harada is the most popular conductor in Japan today. After studying conducting in the United States and Russia, he made his professional debut at the age of 20 with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra conducting Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2. He then returned to the U.S. to study with Lorin Maazel and as an assistant to Levine, and held positions such as associate conductor of the Arizona Opera and associate conductor of the prestigious Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. in 2017, he conducted Carmen at the Bulgarian National Opera.
